Download Chrome Companion for Remote Arc

Install the scoped Chrome Companion extension to share individual Chrome browser tabs with your AI through Remote Arc. Get the current ZIP download immediately at the top of the page, then follow the Chrome installation instructions. This optional browser tool is not needed for file or terminal operations.

Download the unpacked Chrome extension

Download the Chrome Companion ZIP from the first card on this page. Unzip the package to a stable folder on your computer. Chrome Companion is currently distributed as an unpacked beta rather than through Chrome Web Store.

Install from chrome://extensions

Open the Chrome extensions management page at chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode, choose Load unpacked and select the directory containing manifest.json. Open the extension popup, choose Connect to Remote Arc, confirm browser pairing and share the browser tab you want the AI to use.

Every shared tab starts read-only

A newly shared Chrome tab provides read-only tools for page snapshots, selected text, links and tables. Click & fill requires separate explicit permission for that tab. Stale element references are rejected and recognized password, one-time-code, payment-card and file-picker fields are not available to normal browser filling.

Unpacked extensions need manual updates

The download ZIP is rebuilt from current extension source when the production website is deployed, but Chrome does not automatically update an extension loaded using Load unpacked. To upgrade, download and unpack a new ZIP and reload the unpacked extension in Chrome.
