Understand what Connect provides today and what the Arc Agent foundation supports.

Connect and Arc

Connect brings tools, Apps and your paired devices into a compatible AI chat. That chat supplies the reasoning. Arc is the separate planned agent experience for persistent teammates and coordinated work. Arc Agent remains in development; Apps can ship and work through Connect independently.

Model provider foundation

The hosted model gateway has adapters for Cloudflare Workers AI, OpenAI Responses and Claude Messages. They produce bounded planning decisions and do not execute tools themselves. Hosted inference is disabled by default. Supplying an API key does not enable a paid model: explicit provider grants and global, organization, user and task budgets are also required. There is no automatic paid fallback.

Persistent state and device control

Saved tasks retain their progress so another compatible chat can inspect state later. Device ownership, trusted paths, execution permissions, leases and approvals still apply. Organization membership does not grant access to another person's computer. A saved task is not a promise that an ordinary chat continues reasoning after it closes.
